ประสบการณ์สอบข้อเขียนและสอบขับที่ CA ปี 2008 ของหญิง (yingbilly) (อัพเดท-ไม่ได้รับใบขับขี่ทาง ปณ.)
I arrived CA on 28 Feb and haven't adjusted the status yet (K 1). My hubby's residential address is in Michigan and we will go there on 24 Apr. We plan to move from MI to CA in the near future. During my staying here I registered the marriage certificate, joint the bank account , applied for the SSN and the DRIVER LICENSE!! And this is my CA driving test experience ;
- Mar 24 - - Visit DMV at Auburn office to ask for the application and want to make the paper test appt.
They said I can walk in to apply and take the test anytime but before 4.30 pm. OK...I am not ready yet and will come back later. Before leaving the office, I took the CA driver handbook to read too.
- Mar 26 - - Back to DMV again and submit the application.
I used my passport, I 94 , SSN and marriage cert to apply. They asked for the residential address, we have the P.O box here. It took almost 20 mins to complete this process because the officer seems not sure of what she did. She made a copy of my document again and again and also asked for the clarification from other officers too. Finally, she made it and told me to have the vision test...thumb print and photo!!! After that she gave me the English paper test and said I could spend as much time as I want (no time limit). I took about 20 mins and put my test in the basket. The officer started to check it and then looked up at me and nodded her head. I walked to her immediately. She said she is afraid to pronounce my name wrongly and told me to tell my name again. She said I passed the test. I asked for the score. She showed me the answer sheet but the way she checked is a mess!! because the first time she used the wrong key to check...Thanks god that she realized she made the mistake and changed the key to recheck my paper. And she told me I got 35 from 36. Wow!! Amazing!! Then she gave me the temporary permit to drive with the one who has the driver license...just to practice and then can make the driving test (on the road) in 30 days at any office in CA. We decided to make the soonest appt.immediately because we have to go back to Michigan after Song Kran. The soonest schedule is on Apr 11 at 1.20 pm at Roseville office so we picked up that date!!

- Apr 11 - - Drive to Roseville office at 1 pm.
We contacted with the window 13 and submitted my appt. paper. The officer asked for the car registration and insurance and told me to move the car to the back of the office and sat in the car waiting for the examiner. I kept waiting in the car more than 10 mins...but whatever the longer I wait, the less nervous I feel. hehehe We saw a young good looking woman (look like Mexican) walk out from the office and straight to another car...huh! I thought it was her but...she started to check the other car's condition for 10 mins. Then she walked to me and introduced herself that she will be my examiner. Oh..Oh!! She told me to go back to the car and open the window while she was checking the signals outside the car. She started to tell me to turn the turn signals first...left, right, brake, emergency, headlight and told me to show how to use the parking brake, windshield, horn and give the signal turns by hand. After that she opened the door and sat near me...told me to turn on the a/c so that we can close the windows. Then explain that she won't tell me to do any risky things or say any trix to me. We will drive safely. And ask if I have any question. I am 100% Thai so never have any questions (at first) certainly!!
Only keep smiling...hehehe She gave me the simple instructions. For example ;
= = We will turn right/left at the intersection.
= = Change the lane to the left / right.
= = Turn left on the road where the truck comes out.
= = Pull out and park here (parallel with the curb.....luckily not between two cars) and then back up along the curb.
The driving test took about 20 mins on the road and then we drove back to the office. She told me to park at the reserved parking and explained about my driving situation and error I made. I made 8 error mistakes (we can do not more than 15 otherwise we will fail). Most of my mistakes are from changing the lanes (not look over the shoulder...rely on mirror only)..and short turn at the intersection. She said I have to fix this problem then told me that I PASSED!!! and back to get the 2 months temporary card inside the office. The license card will be mailed within 4 weeks. My hubby seems to be more nervous than me with the test. He's afraid I will be failed...hehehe

มาอัพเดทต่อ...หลังจากเดินทางจากแคลิฟลอเนียมาที่มิชิแกน ก็ รอๆๆๆๆๆ เจ้าใบขับขี่ที่ว่าจะส่งมาทางไปรษณีย์ รอ ร้อ รอ หนึ่งเดือนผ่านไปก็แล้วยังเงียบอยู่...ไปแจ้งที่ DMV ที่ CA ขอเปลี่ยนที่อยู่ในการส่งใบขับขี่มาให้ (ซึ่งตอนนั้นเค๊ายังไม่ส่งเลย) ตั้งแต่วันที่ 18 เม.ย. เจ้าหน้าที่ก็บอกไม่มีปัญหา จนวันพุธที่ 29 พ.ค. รอไม่ไหวอีกต่อไปแล้วววว ให้แฟนโทรไปถาม เค๊าบอกใบขับขี่ส่งมาตั้งแต่ 30 เม.ย.แล้วคร๊าบบบบ ส่งมาที่อยู่ที่มิชิแกนนี่แหละ น่านปะไร แล้วทำไงต่อล่ะ ว่าแล้วเจ้าหน้าที่ก็ให้เบอร์แผนกออกบัตรอีกต่อนึง แฟนก็โทรถามให้ เค๊าบอกว่าคงยังส่งใบใหม่มาให้ไม่ได้...ถ้าเราไ่ม่ได้รับยังไงบัตรมันต้องถูกตีกลับไปที่เค๊า ๆ ต้องทำลายบัตรเก่าก่อนถึงจะส่งใบใหม่มาให้อีกที แต่ในช่วงที่รอเค๊าจะส่งใบขับขี่ชั่วคราว (อายุ 4 ปี) มาให้แต่ว่าไม่มีรูปเราติดนะ ใช้คู่กับพาสปอร์ต เฮ้อ...ให้ใช้ไปก่อนในขณะรอตัวจริงซึ่งไม่รู้ว่ามานปายอยู่ที่หนายยยหนอ....

อัพเดทต่อ....หลังจากโทรไปติดตามเจ้าใบขับขี่ตั้งแต่วันพุธที่ 29 พ.ค. ก็ได้รับใบขับขี่ชั่วคราวอายุ 4 ปี ไม่มีรูปแล้วก็ให้เราเซ็นต์ลายเซ็นต์ลงไปในบัตร
ก็ดีใจอยู่หรอกนะที่ได้ใบชั่วคราวแต่ก็ยังอยากได้ตัวจริงที่มีรูปอยู่ดี ว่าแล้วก็ให้แฟนติดตามเรื่องใหม่ โทรไปแผนกออกบัตรวันที่ 30 กค. ถามว่าบัตรเรา
ตีกลับไปที่นั่นหรือยัง ปรากฏว่ายังเลยไม่มีวี่แวว เนื่องจากตอนนี้ตัวอยู่มิชิแกน เจ้าหน้าที่เลยแนะนำให้มายื่นเรื่องกรอกแบบฟอร์มที่สำนักงานที่แคลิฟลอเนีย
ก็แล้วกันเพื่อขอทำบัตรใหม่ เฮ้อ...แต่ไม่เป็นไรเพราะมีแผนจะไปแคลิฟลอเนียกันอยู่แล้วเร็ว ๆ นี้....จะได้ไปตามล่าหาใบขับขี่ด้วย 5555
ตอนนี้ได้ใบขับขี่ตัวจริงมาอยู่ในมือแล้ว เนื่องจากสาเหตุเพราะทาง DMV ไม่ยอมแจ้งเปลี่ยนที่อยู่ตามที่เราบอก เลยส่งไปที่ ตู้ ปณ.ที่แคลิฟลอเนีย แล้วทางนั้นก็ดันไม่ส่งต่อมาทางมิชิแกน เพราะเป็นเอกสารสำคัญเค๊าไม่ส่งต่อ เลยค้างเติ่งอยู่ในตู้...ก็เลยต้องวุ่นวายโทรแจ้งแล้วก็ต้องส่งแฟ็กซ์ใบขับขี่ที่เห็นหน้าเราชัด ๆ ไปให้อีกแผนกนึงซึ่งมีหน้าที่รับผิดชอบอีกที ไปแจ้ง DMV ที่เราสอบข้อเขียนเค๊าก็ทำอะไรไม่ได้เค๊าไม่มีหน้าที่ตรงนี้ ระบบเค๊าเข้าไม่ถึง...ต้องโทรติดต่ออย่างเดียว แก้ไขข้อมูลบัตรเพราะถูกแจ้งว่าหาย ดังนั้นจะยังใช้ไม่ได้จนกว่าเค๊าจะตรวจสอบเรียบร้อย...ตอนนี้ก็เรียบร้อยแล้วล่ะ ได้ใบขับขี่จริงเห็นหน้าเห็นตาซะที อิอิ...
